    Tough fishing.

I've been fishing the Great Lakes since the mid 70's. The hay days. Saw the crash in the 80's. Well it, the hay days come back? I've never seen this much north east or south east winds and I've watched it daily. Is it the winds or the stocking???

I have been at it on and off since the late 60s. One of the things I have learned in life is nothing stays the same. One of the things my Grandfather taught me was 'when the wind is from the east, the fish bite least'. I tend to agree with him.

I was fishing Lake Michigan out of Baileys Harbor (Door County) on Wednesday. Even 10 miles out in 250-300 FOW the temp at 100 foot depth was around 68F. Thermocline was at about 110 foot down. This was during a northwest wind. IMO the water mass (2000 cu miles) is becoming warmer. Primary (90%) of catch (local charters) in my area this year is steelhead which like warmer water.
