    Fish Hawk probe rigging

How do you guys rig your probe. Do you put a release above the probe if so how far above or do you run a pinch pad release off the back of the ball?

I use an inline release (Blacks for flashers, Chamberlain for other lures) above the probe. Also use a 1' break-a-way cable segment between the probe and ball.

I also put my release above the probe but I use a big jon band buster on the end of the cable with a swivel then probe then break away then weight. No issues.

Same as SeaCat regarding the general layout. However, I use Scotty #371 in line rubber snubbers to provide shock absorption for the trolling equipment terminal gear. Been using them since 1997 with no issues.

Thanks for the input for some reason I was worried about the line and the probe having an issue if I didnít put a gap between the release and the probe.

I have mine set up with a Chamberlin release above the probe & 371 Scotty breakaway snubber below the probe. I hope I don't have to test it out !
