    Jaws derby questions

Can someone clear up some info about the jaws derby? With the fishing area being so huge can you launch your boat out of any public launch and then trailer your fish back to barkers to get weighed? Or do you have to bring your catch in via boat?
Also, what is the captains division and how is the bag weight calculated for that?

Their website is down and has been for quite some time. Both links you posted are broken, but thanks for trying. I did try contacting wlsta before asking on here but no answer from them either.

Itís an all volunteer run contest. I think their Facebook page might get faster answers. https://m.facebook.com/WLSTA/

You can use any launch and bring fish however you wish as long as your inline at weigh in time.

Captains Division is basically the largest of the fish on the boat as a total for the paticpants on that boat. You must enter as a boat ahead of time.

This is may not be 100% but hope it helps

You can launch at any boat ramp on the western end of the lake. There is a derby line limiting folks to the western end but Iím not sure exactly where it is. I know of some boats that start in port wing and troll west to barkers. The northern end could be Two Harbors. The Capt. Division is the best total weight of trout, salmon and walleye. You can switch out fish weights as the weekend wears on. Total weight usually ends up around 25 pounds.
