    failure clear dipsey snubbers

I recently purchased 2 new 12" clear Luhr Jenson snubbers for this season.
I typically replace them every year.
Both of these failed within 5 minutes of each other.
Check the wire twisted around the swivel and see if it is close to the barrel.
If not, don't put it in the water. they used to have a heavy cord inside the snubber, now its just light weight mono.

Went away from the Luhr Jensen type close to 20 years ago and switched to Opti Tackle type. Now lots of companies sell them. They last for years and are much smaller diameter. Much more even/uniform stretch too.

    thank you for the info.
I went with dreamweaver for similar reasons, but it took me a little longer to get there.

+1 on these...been running these for years and they seem to hold up to leaving in the sun as well.

Been using those "new" style snubbers for years. Had one break for the first time yesterday - non idea how old it was. Probably a good idea to toss them after a season or three.
